Bicycle Mechanic & Tour Guide

Cal Coast Adventures is a high end rental and tour business. We have a lot of bicycles to maintain and tune on a constant basis. Our bikes range from high end road and mountain bikes to electric bikes down to single and multi-speed cruisers. We're looking for a full time bike mechanic to help maintain this fleet as well as help with rentals in the store. If the mechanic has the personality for it and would like to do some guiding we also lead tours however this isn’t a requirement. The mechanic will help maintain our fleet of road bikes, mountain bikes, hybrids, ebikes and beach cruisers. We're only accepting applicants with prior bike shop experience; must have at least 2 years experience in a shop and an upbeat personality. You'll be working in a shop 50% of the time, offsite at a couple client locations 30% of the time working on cruisers, and if you ride a bit and want to help lead tours you’ll be on those 20% of the time. The right candidate must be able to work on electronic shifting, do brake bleeds, work on electric bikes and full bike builds to name a few. If you ride a little that's a benefit but not a requirement. We do tours on road and mountain bikes; to do those you'll need to be on the more advanced side. We also do city tours and electric bike tours and those you just need a good personality and we'll train you on the rest. This job will entail a big focus maintaining our bikes (low end to extremely high end), assisting with rentals and possibly leading tours. A friendly demeanor and a go getter attitude is huge part of this position. Also, someone that can work autonomously when needed. The pay for this position will range from $19-$22 / hr depending on your experience. Ideally the individual will be available 4 to 5 days a week. If interested in leading tours as well you can expect some tips on top of hourly.
