FREE Summer Safety and Fun Event

Cottage Health’s Trauma Services, in partnership with Santa Barbara agencies, is thrilled to invite the community to its FREE Summer Safety and Fun Event. Designed to ensure the safety of children during the summer season, the Summer Safety and Fun Event promises a day of excitement, engagement, and education for families. Children of all ages can partake in a wide array of activities while learning important safety tips. Children can: • Swim safely with lifeguards on duty • Have their face painted • Explore a fire truck and police car • Enjoy a bike safety obstacle course (children must bring their own bike to participate) • Learn Krav Maga techniques • Receive a free eye exam Parents can: • Purchase discounted helmets ($10) • Become educated on proper car seat harnessing and California car seat laws • Become informed on concussion, playground and safe sleep tips Event attendees who choose to bike to the event will receive a special prize. Participating agencies and organizations include: • MoveSB • Emergency Medical Services Agency • City of Goleta • Santa Barbara Krav Maga • Santa Barbara County Public Health • California Highway Patrol • American Medical Response • American Red Cross • Santa Barbara Face Painting • Santa Barbara City Police • Santa Barbara City Fire Department • Kona Ice Cottage Health’s Trauma Services is proud to be a coalition of Safe Kids World Wide. Our local coalition, Safe Kids Santa Barbara County, shares the mission of keeping all children safe from preventable injuries. Many agencies participating in this Summer Safety and Fun event proudly stand as active partners in the Safe Kids Santa Barbara coalition.
