Assistant Hostel Manager – Lead & Create the Ultimate Hostel Experience
Location: Santa Barbara, CA. Compensation: $21/hr + Breakfast, & Staff Dinners. Revenue bonus potential based on performance vs last year.

We’re looking for a motivated, hands-on Assistant Manager who thrives in a team setting, loves creating experiences, and wants to help build a world-class hostel community.
What You’ll Do As the Assistant Manager, you’ll play a key role in making our hostel the best it can be: Lead & Train the Team: Coach and inspire staff to be exceptional receptionists and housekeepers who create a seamless guest experience. Hands-On Housekeeping: Set the standard for cleanliness by helping with daily tasks to keep the hostel sparkling and organized. Lead Events & Experiences: Host and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly events – from BBQ nights to beach bonfires and surf trips – to bring guests together and create memorable experiences. Be the House Leader: Set a positive and welcoming tone for both staff and guests. Operational Support: Assist with scheduling, guest relations, and maintaining high service standards. Host & Connect: Provide authentic local recommendations and ensure every traveler feels welcome.
What We’re Looking For: A natural leader who loves to train and motivate a team. A people person with great communication skills who thrives in social settings. Organized and hands-on – you’ll lead by example in both reception, housekeeping, and event hosting. High energy and work ethic – you roll up your sleeves and help wherever needed.
